Safety, Legality, and Interference
Are Omni Amplifier boosters safe to use?
Yes. Omni Amplifier boosters are fully safe and compliant for use in homes, offices, vehicles, and boats. Each unit includes Auto Gain Control (AGC), intelligent overload protection, and automatic shutdown features that prevent interference and keep your system operating within approved limits.
All models are built to meet official telecom and radio safety requirements, backed by a Radio Transmission Equipment Type Approval Certificate, ensuring interference-free performance wherever you use them.
When can signal boosters be illegal?
Signal boosters can be considered illegal when they amplify mobile signals without control, causing harmful interference. Unregulated boosters may overpower nearby networks, disrupt mobile towers, or interfere with signals used by essential or government services. This is why many countries enforce strict rules on booster safety and performance.
With Omni Amplifier, you do not need to worry. Our boosters are engineered with Smart Auto Gain Control (AGC), a safety technology that automatically adjusts amplification levels to prevent overload. They also include uplink and downlink shutdown features, which turn off transmission if the signal becomes too strong. This ensures:
- No interference with nearby networks
- Compliance with telecommunications standards
- Safe operation in homes, offices, boats, cars, and more
Can Omni Amplifier boosters interfere with Wi-Fi?
No. Our boosters amplify mobile network frequencies, not Wi-Fi frequencies. The two technologies do not overlap.
What type of booster is the Omni Amplifier mobile signal booster?
The Omni Amplifier is a cellular mobile repeater that improves signal for multiple handsets at once, rather than a single wired phone.
This design ensures it safely strengthens mobile coverage without interfering with other devices or the mobile network, providing reliable signal for all smartphones, tablets, and wireless handsets in the area.
Installation and Setup
Do I need professional installation?
No. Omni Amplifier boosters are designed for quick DIY installation. Anyone with basic tools and a bit of patience can install the system. That said, you can still choose to hire a local handyman, electrician, or anyone experienced with running cables if you prefer assistance.
Can I install the booster myself?
Yes. All our systems are plug-and-play with simple instructions. Most customers complete installation in under 20 minutes without any technical skills.
Do I need to adjust the booster manually?
Not at all. Smart AGC manages everything automatically. The booster constantly monitors signal levels and adjusts gain in real time to maintain maximum performance with zero interference.
Do I need to adjust settings after installation?
No adjustments are needed. The booster automatically:
- Optimizes gain
- Prevents overload
- Balances uplink and downlink
This ensures peak performance with zero configuration.
Does this signal booster require an account to work?
No. The device does not require you to be associated with an ongoing account or subscription to operate. Once it is properly installed it will work independently to boost your signal. No monthly fees or account management are needed for continued use.
How far apart should I place the outdoor and indoor antennas?
We recommend keeping 5-8 meters between the outdoor and indoor antennas, preferably more vertical than horizontal.
In tight spaces, certain materials between the antennas can block the signal, so proper placement is important to avoid interference.
What is the maximum cable length for the external antenna?
The maximum cable length is 30 m. Beyond this, signal loss can reduce booster performance.
Coverage and Performance
How does a cell phone booster work?
A cell phone repeater takes a weak signal from outside, amplifies it, and rebroadcasts it inside your home or office to improve coverage.
How many users can connect at the same time?
Omni Amplifier boosters support multiple simultaneous users. Whether it is family, guests, or an entire office floor, all can enjoy improved signal at the same time without performance loss.
How can I check the nearest cell tower location?
You can use online tools and apps to see cell towers and signal strength in your area. This helps you understand coverage before using a signal booster.
- CellMapper: See nearby cell towers and signal strength based on user-contributed data.
- Network Cell Info Lite app: View nearby towers and signal quality on your phone.
- OpenSignal: Check coverage maps, speed tests, and tower info worldwide.
Will a signal booster work if I have no signal at all outside?
No booster can create signal from nothing. You need at least a weak outdoor signal for the system to amplify. If needed, we guide you on finding the strongest outdoor spot before purchasing.
How can I measure cell signal strength on my phone?
You can check your signal strength directly on your Android or iPhone using built-in tools or apps.
Android: Use apps like Network Cell Info Lite or CellMapper.net to see nearby towers, signal strength, and network info.
Some Android phones also show signal bars in Settings > About Phone > Status.
iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular > Network Selection or use Field Test Mode by dialing *3001#12345#* to see signal strength in decibels (dBm).
Do your boosters work in rural or weak-signal areas?
Yes. Our boosters are specially designed for challenging environments. Even in remote locations or buildings with thick walls, the system will amplify any available signal. Because our boosters support multiple frequency bands, your device will connect through the strongest band available in your area.
Does weather affect booster performance?
Extreme weather, such as heavy storms, strong winds, or lightning, may temporarily weaken the mobile tower signal. When this happens, the booster will still amplify whatever signal is available, but overall performance may vary based on tower conditions.
If you live in an area with frequent storms or unstable weather, we recommend using a power surge protector to help safeguard your booster and extend its lifespan.
How large of an area will the booster cover?
Coverage depends mainly on the strength of your outdoor signal, but we also offer different booster models to suit any space:
- Single-floor boosters: cover up to 300 m²
- Double-floor boosters: cover up to 500 m²
- High-power boosters: cover up to 1000 m²
- Ultra high-power boosters: cover up to 5000 m², ideal for large homes, warehouses, farms, and commercial buildings
Is the booster waterproof?
The outdoor antenna is weatherproof and can withstand rain, sun, and wind. The booster unit should be installed indoors or in a sheltered, dry location.
For marine and boating applications, our Omni-Marine Signal Booster is fully waterproof and specifically built to operate safely in wet, harsh marine environments.
Does the signal booster prevent signal interference?
Yes. Our booster has Automatic Gain Control (AGC), which automatically adjusts the signal to prevent overloads or interference, keeping your devices working safely even when the cell tower signal fluctuates.
What does the gain of a signal booster mean?
The gain of a booster indicates how much stronger the signal will be after it passes through the unit.
For example, a booster with a maximum gain of 60 dB makes the output signal 60 dB stronger than the signal going in. Higher gain not only increases the boosted signal but also allows the booster to cover a larger area compared to units with lower gain.
Can your signal booster be used in a basement or underground area?
Yes. Our boosters are well-suited for use in basements and underground spaces. By installing an external antenna above ground to capture the signal and connecting it to an indoor ceiling antenna, the booster delivers improved cellular signal coverage to areas where reception is typically weak or unavailable
What’s the difference between an Omni antenna and a Directional (LPDA) antenna?
An Omni antenna receives signal from all directions, making it ideal when nearby towers are spread around or the exact tower location is unknown.
A Directional (LPDA) antenna focuses on one specific direction, delivering higher gain and better performance when you know where the nearest tower is.
Which antenna gives the strongest signal?
A Directional LPDA antenna generally provides the strongest signal because it concentrates reception toward one tower.
An Omni antenna offers slightly lower gain but provides 360° coverage and is easier to install.
When should I choose an Omni antenna?
Choose an Omni antenna if:
- You’re in an urban or suburban area.
- Multiple towers are nearby.
- You want a simple, no-aim installation.
- The signal direction is unknown or changes.
When should I choose an LPDA (Directional) antenna?
Choose an LPDA antenna if:
- You’re in a rural or remote area.
- The signal is weak.
- You know the direction of the nearest tower.
- You want maximum performance and range.
What’s the difference between a Ceiling antenna and a Wall-mounted antenna?
Both are designed for indoor coverage, but differ in:
A Ceiling antenna distributes signal evenly across a room or floor, making it ideal for open spaces and multi-room coverage.
A Wall-mounted antenna directs signal forward into a specific area, which is useful for corridors, long rooms, or targeted coverage.
Are mobile signal boosters and repeaters the same thing?
Yes. In everyday language, “booster” and “repeater” mean the same thing: a device that amplifies weak mobile signals to improve coverage indoors or in vehicles.
What about “single-handset boosters”?
A single-handset booster is a small device that only improves signal for one phone at a time. These are illegal in Australia because they can interfere with the mobile network and cause problems for other users.
Networks, Bands, and Telcos
Do boosters work for all mobile networks?
Yes. Our multi-band systems are designed to support all telcos, and they will automatically boost whichever network your phone is using, including 3G, 4G, and 5G low or high band.
Will a signal booster improve 4G?
Absolutely. If 4G or LTE is available in your area, even at a weak level, our 4G boosters will strengthen it and improve call quality, data speeds, and coverage inside your home, car, boat, or building.
Will a booster improve 5G?
Yes, if your provider uses 5G on one of the supported frequency bands. Our 5G boosters support:
- Low-band 5G at 700 MHz
