Installation Guide
Step-by-Step Installation:
Follow these steps carefully for optimal signal booster performance. Take your time with each step to ensure proper installation.
1- Find the Best Outdoor Signal Location:
Before installing, walk around the exterior of your building with your phone to find the spot with the strongest existing signal. This is where your outdoor antenna should go.
Pro Tips:
Check signal strength in field test mode for accuracy
Roof locations typically provide the best signal
Higher positions generally mean better reception
2- Mount the Outdoor Antenna:
Install the outdoor antenna at the location with the strongest signal. Point directional antennas toward the nearest cell tower. Secure the antenna firmly using the included mounting hardware.
Pro Tips:
Use a compass or cell tower locator app to find tower direction
Ensure the antenna is weatherproofed and stable
Leave some slack in the cable for adjustments
3-Install the Booster Unit:
Place the booster unit in a well-ventilated indoor location, ideally between the outdoor and indoor antennas. Connect the cable from the outdoor antenna to the 'Outdoor' port on the booster.
Pro Tips:
Keep the booster away from heat sources
Ensure easy access for monitoring indicator lights
A central location often provides the best results
4-Position the Indoor Antenna:
Install the indoor antenna in the area where you need better signal coverage. Maintain proper separation from the outdoor antenna to prevent oscillation (feedback loop).
Pro Tips:
Minimum 5 meters separation from outdoor antenna
Vertical separation works best (e.g., different floors)
Center the antenna for even coverage distribution
5-Connect and Power On:
Connect the indoor antenna to the booster's 'Indoor' port using the provided cable. Plug in the power adapter and turn on the booster unit. Wait for the system to initialize.
Pro Tips:
Check all cable connections are tight and secure
Watch for the power indicator light to turn on
Some boosters may take 1-2 minutes to calibrate
6-Test Your Signal Strength:
Walk around your coverage area with your phone and test the signal strength. Make small adjustments to antenna positions if needed to optimize performance.
Pro Tips:
Test in different rooms and corners
Try making calls and loading data to verify improvement
Note areas that may need additional indoor antennas
Tips & Troubleshooting:
Encountering issues? Here are solutions to common problems you might face during or after installation.
-
Booster shows oscillation warning
Increase the distance between your indoor and outdoor antennas. Try moving them to different floors or opposite ends of the building. The booster may automatically reduce gain to prevent feedback. -
No signal improvement after installation
Verify the outdoor antenna is pointed toward the cell tower. Check all cable connections are secure. Ensure you have at least 1 bar of signal at the outdoor antenna location. -
Signal is good close to indoor antenna but weak further away
Your coverage area may be too large for a single indoor antenna. Consider adding additional indoor antennas with a splitter to extend coverage. -
Booster power light is off
Check that the power adapter is properly connected to both the outlet and the booster. Try a different outlet. If the issue persists, the power adapter may need replacement. -
Signal keeps dropping intermittently
This may indicate a loose cable connection. Check and tighten all coaxial connections. Also ensure the outdoor antenna is firmly mounted and not moving in the wind.
